Maisey Yates introduces you to the thrilling Fifth Avenue Trilogy and the stunning book that starts it all! + Giveaway

by Maisey Yates, author of Avenge Me

In the Fifth Avenue trilogy, we have three powerful heroes and three very strong heroines who each have a part to play in destroying a legacy built on depravity. But revenge has to start somewhere, and in this series, it starts with Austin!

Austin Treffen has done his best to distance himself from any kind of scandal. A hard-working lawyer who advocates for women, Austin fell out with his father over a tragedy that Austin feared his father might have more involvement in than he could prove.

A letter is sent to Austin’s law firm indicating that his father – Jason – drove a friend to her death. And Austin knows that’s something he can’t let go unanswered. Simply distancing himself isn’t enough anymore, his father has committed unspeakable acts and he has to answer for them.

The death of Sarah Michaels wasn’t just the end of Austin’s relationship with his father, but it put cracks in the relationships he had with two of his closest friends. This new revelation means reuniting with Hunter and Alex to exact revenge on Jason, and make sure justice is served for Sarah.

Avenge Me is all about setting the plan to bring Jason Treffen’s sins to light into motion. As his son, Austin has the most to lose personally, and being willing to expose his father means being willing to bring scandal upon his entire family; his mother, his sister, himself.

Then Austin meets Katy Michaels, and she has her own plans for revenge.

Katy blames Jason for her sister’s suicide, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to avenge her. She wants Jason destroyed, his name turned him mud in the eyes of the public. So an attraction to her mortal enemy’s son doesn’t figure anywhere in the cards.

But from the moment her eyes meet Austin’s across a crowded room, she’s lost.

Attraction brings them together, and a need for justice, a need for vengeance, keeps them moving forward. But it’s also the very thing that could tear them both apart.

Because once they set the ball rolling, there will be no stopping it. When Austen and Katie fulfill their part of the revenge plan, Hunter, and then Alex, will then have their own parts to play. And Austin will have no control over the outcome.

Austin doesn’t like feeling out of control, and the other area of his life he feels like he’s losing his grip on is in his relationship with Katie. His attraction for her is bigger than anything he’s ever felt before, and desires he spent all of his life repressing are fighting their way to the surface.

As they move deeper into the darkness together, both in their personal relationship, and in their quest for revenge, Austin realizes that no matter how difficult, he has to destroy the demons that hide in the shadows once and for all.

Even if some of them are inside of him.

Enjoy the first step to revenge in the Fifth Avenue trilogy! Austin Treffen has the plan…

It was supposed to be an evening of bland conversation. That was what Alex, Hunter and he did every year. Drinks and bland conversation. The kind of conversation that skirted around anything of interest or meaning. That laid thick like graveyard dirt over the skeletons of the past.

Buried beneath talk of 401Ks, football statistics and current events. So deep that it was easy to forget they were all dining over a coffin.

Unfortunately the letter he had in his hand was the damned shovel.

It was going to unearth everything. He didn’t think there would be a bland enough topic in existence to ever put the ghosts to rest again.

Austin looked at the two men sitting across from him. The men he’d once called his best friends. Men who had become little more than distant strangers over the past ten years.

Hunter was throwing out some sort of B.S. line about how much more action he’d get now that he’d been ousted from the NFL, and Alex was nodding along. All a bunch of shallow nothing, but then, what else would they talk about?

They were barely acquaintances now. Acquaintances who met every year on the grimmest of anniversaries and never once spoke of why they’d gathered. Acquaintances who could barely look each other in the eye.

But then, that’s what bland conversation did, he supposed. It kept bad memories at bay and old friends at a distance. A distance that wasn’t an accident. Not in the least.

But they didn’t have time for distance now. Didn’t have time for circular talk that meant less than nothing. Not now. Not when he had the letter burning a hole straight through to his skin.

Austin reached into the interior pocket of his jacket and ran his fingers over the folded document. He pulled it out and put it on the table, white paper blending into the pristine white cloth.

Strange. He’d half expected it to leave a crimson stain.

“I’m afraid the usual dinner of denial and quiet regret will not be served tonight,” he said.

I’ve always liked the way both Dallas TV shows have written their “long-arcing” tales of revenge. Who can forget, “Who Shot JR?” (Okay, okay. Maybe it was too long ago for many.) To have multiple stories of revenge depicted each and every week keeps me on the edge of my seat.

The first season of Revenge was great. The second season of Revenge was so/so and the third season was better than the second season. However, I did like how the third season ended. I don’t know how they are going to continue with a fourth season.

My favorite Revenge show would be Skip Beat! It’s an anime, but it surely hits the nail for me!
And if we are talking about a book, it would be Heart of Ice.
