The Presents Team Hearts Mediterranean Heroes!

By Pippa Roscoe, Acting Assistant Editor

Presents has an amazing array of hot alpha men at our disposal – this is undisputable. Perhaps it’s the sun, or even something in the water, but there’s definitely something about our Mediterranean heroes getting us all hot under the collar this month!

These are the men who will whisk you away to their grand, Mediterranean villa, feed you the freshest of food – cheeses, stuffed vine leaves, the finest cuts of serrano ham – and offer you the most delicious wine grown from their own personal vineyards. All this, while the heat of the summer sun beats down against your skin – which is nothing compared to the fire they ignite when they look at you that way!

Who hasn’t nestled into the seat of a plane set to jet off to the Mediterranean and day-dreamed about the brooding, utterly gorgeous waiter, serving you  a glass of Prosecco at the open air restaurant nestled on cobbled boarders of the Piazza del Campo in Siena? Of course, he’s not really a waiter. He’s a secret billionaire with a dark past, desperate to find the woman who wants him for more than just his money!

whenchristakosmeetshismatchWhether he’s Greek, Italian, Sicilian, Spanish, or even some far-off Mediterranean principality that we are discovering for the first time between the pages of a Presents, these alpha heroes are some of the most sensuous, bronzed and delicious that we have to offer. They can be Kings, wayward Princes, Billionaire tycoons, international jet-setters and eventually the masters of our hearts.Care to share my day-dream anyone?

With so many amazing stories to choose from, it’s hard to know where to start! So here are some fabulous Mediterranean heroes available now!

Carol Mortimer offers up a delicious helping of Italian hero in A D’Angelo Like No Other – the last The Devilish D’Angelos trilogy. Michael D’Angelo lost his halo years ago but when fiery Eva Foster appears claiming he’s the father to twins, he’s certain he’s not responsible.  Battle lines have been drawn but when the spark between them catches, all bets are off…

whatthegreeksmoneycantbuyIn Abby Green’s When Christakos Meets His Match, the second in her Blood Brothers trilogy, Sidonie Fitzgerald’s affair with the gorgeous Greek tycoon Alexio Christakos goes off the rails when he accuses her of wanting more than just his body. But Sidonie’s innocence masks a backbone of steel and she won’t take his allegation lying down!

Maya Blake – , first in her Untameable Greeks trilogy, Brianna Moneypenny is the one woman oil magnate Sakis Pantelides can trust and is completely off-limits…until a crisis throws them together and he realizes just what he’s been denying himself. But will he pay the price for taking what he wants?

thesciciliansunexpecteddutyMichelle Smart brings us Sicily’s most notorious bad-boy in The Sicilian’s Unexpected Duty – second in The Irresistible Sicilians trilogy, when Cara Delany hurtles back into Pepe Mastrangelo’s life proclaiming he’s the father of her baby. It’s a role he never anticipated. Unsure if she’s telling the truth, Pepe has five months to uncover everything…and he knows just where to start!

So ladies, do you have a favourite Mediterranean hero? Do the Italians set your pulses racing more than the Greeks? Or is there something delicious about the long forgotten French hero that keeps calling you back? Do tell!

Great post Pippa. I’m very partial to a French hero, he has a certain je ne sais quoi after all ;).
But I think you can’t beat the Greek hero (or at least, not like that oo-er) for sheer charisma and raw charisma. I’ll take Zorba the Greek any day, and who can resist the Shirley Valentine fantasy of running away to a Greek island??!

Thanks Abby! I must admit, I haven’t seen a French hero that has quite rocked my world in the same way as the other Mediterranean heroes do, but I’m happy to be persuaded if anyone has any suggestions?!

And who couldn’t help but fall for a Greek tycoon… or two. Or three?! (All with charisma of course!)

An inspiring post Pippa! I would have to say I love the Italian and Greek heroes the most. I have a distinct memory of sitting in a cafe in Lucca with friends, drooling over a gorgeous Italian on his mobile. Of course he knew what we were doing the entire time! Who cares?!

    Thanks Jen!

Ohhh, there are just too many gorgeous Mediterranean heroes to chose from. But sitting in Lucca with handsome Italian’s surrounding you sounds like a good place to start!

I’m with Abby – a Greek Tycoon is, for me, the ultimate romance hero! They go way back when in my youth reading Mills and Boon, and I still think they are the template for all Presents heroes since then.

That said, whenever I read (or write!) a romance with a French hero, I always see a photo of the young (and unbearably gorgeous!) Alain Delon as the leading man. 🙂
