Which Heroine Are You? + Giveaway!

by Susanna Carr, author of A Deal with Benefits

adealwithbenefitsI have read Harlequin Presents for years and I like more than one type of heroine. I eagerly follow the journeys of innocent virgins and seductive mistresses. I sympathize with the heroines who sacrifice everything to achieve their dreams and I cheer on the ones who bring the Alpha males to their knees. I like reading about the ordinary women I recognize from my world and the exotic princesses from faraway lands.

While writing for Harlequin Presents, I get to create all kinds of heroines. These women come from different circumstances but each one takes risks, makes mistakes and perseveres to get the life they want.

Of the Harlequin Presents heroines I have created, which one is most like you? Take the quiz and find out!

1. You are searching for:

a) A haven

b) Beauty and love

c) Freedom

2. Your greatest mistake in love was:

a) Telling the truth while knowing it had the power to destroy

b) Making a choice that would hurt the man you love

c) Getting involved with the wrong man

3. Your favorite travel destination is:

a) A tropical paradise, preferably a private island of your own

b) The cosmopolitan cities of Italy

c) You can’t pick just one and want to travel around the world

4. People think you are:

a) Reckless and daring

b) Naïve and innocent

c) Trouble

If the majority of your question are A, then you have a lot in common with Ashley Jones in A Deal with Benefits. Ashley hid away on a private island after a family scandal but Sebastian has stolen her haven. To fight for a small part of her safe little world, Ashley gets a little reckless and doesn’t anticipate the consequences.

Were most of your answers B? You are a lot like Isabella Williams in Her Shameful Secret. Isabella goes to Italy to find beauty and love with the hopes of transforming into a sophisticated woman. Instead, she finds Antonio and dives into a passionate affair. She naively believes this love will last forever but she is too innocent for Antonio’s treacherous world.

Was C your most common choice? You and Zoe Martin from The Tarnished Jewel of Jazaar have a few similarities. Everyone thinks Zoe is trouble, especially the man she is forced to marry. It’s a huge risk to marry Nadir because he might find out her secret, but this is her only chance to escape her brutal world and find freedom. Yet Zoe never thought she would fall for a man who is known as The Beast.

Were your answers a mix? Chances are you have a lot in common with Tina Sharma from Secrets of a Bollywood Marriage. Behind the glamorous façade as Bollywood’s Bad Girl, Tina’s life has been a struggle. She wants a fresh new start even if it means leaving the husband she loves.  This Harlequin Presents of mine comes out in April!

Are you most like Ashley, Isabella, Zoe or Tina?

I have the most in common with Zoe Martin from THE TARNISHED JEWEL OF JAZAAR (though anyone will tell you that I’m the furthest thing from trouble). All of these titles sound intriguing and I’d love a chance to meet each of the heroines and learn their respective stories — especially Zoe’s!

I am sooo an Ashley, which is fine by me! 🙂 Now, if you will just fly me away to my private island, all will be well. I love stories where the boy from the wrong side of the tracks make good. Would love to read the rest of the books!

I’m an Ashley. It’s true that I’m looking for a haven of my own and I have a habit of telling the truth when I should be lying to save myself.

I’m more of an Isabella (B). I love Harlequin and I think I do gravitate to this type of heroine because I like to read of someone being wronged then righted in the end with love.

    I am Ashley

I am a mix, of Ashley and Isabella.

Naive and Innocent with a streak of recklessness and daring. Looking for a man not a boy. Yearn for a soul mate not a boyfriend. Want forever and a lifetime not just the present.

2 As and 2 Cs make me an Ashley + Zoe lovechild. xD

I need a fresh new start now. After 4 years of undergrad work, I don’t want to look at text books anymore. I’m hoping to go abroad and find a haven in a teaching gig in Japan or back home in the UAE.
