Rock & Roll Bad Boys, by Nicola Marsh

by Nicola Marsh, author of Sex, Gossip and Rock & Roll (Harlequin Presents Extra, October 2011)

Ever been inspired by a picture?

This one inspired me to write an entire book!

This pic screamed bad boy, insolent, charmer and Luca Petrelli strutted onto the page.

I love when a character does that and takes command of a story, telling me in no uncertain terms what must happen and when.

Is Luca a rockstar?  Sadly, no.  I bestowed that dubious honour on Storm Varth, an aging Aussie rocker on his comeback tour.

I love music, (especially embarrassing stuff from the 80s and 90s).  Back then, I thought working in the music industry would be beyond cool so I had immense fun creating a heroine I could live vicariously through now.

Must say, SEX, GOSSIP AND ROCK & ROLL has to be my favourite Harlequin title ever!

I’m always curious to see what the lovely editors come up with and I did a happy dance when I heard this one.

Describes the book perfectly: a fun book with rock stars, concerts, gossip and yeah… sex!

So while we’re chatting about rock and roll, please share your ultimate favourite bad boy rock star.

I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours!

  1. Ultimate rock-star bad boy? It has to be Jim Morrison of the Doors. Those gyrating hips in soft leather trousers. The way those petulant lips curled playfully around a microphone.

Yes, the self-styled “Lizard King” (how I love this nickname) certainly rocked my boat!

  2. Hi Nicola,
That picture says 50,000 words for sure! Isn’t he gorgeous!
