A quick post on some interesting things on the web this week…
1) For those of you interested in more writing tips to gear up for the Harlequin Presents Writing Competition 2009, check out these blog posts by Presents author and past contest winner Lynn Raye Harris: So You Want to Write for Harlequin Presents and So You Want to Write for Harlequin Presents Part 2
2) Here’s something just plain cool: #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber has a festival in her honor called Cedar Cove Days, where the town of Port Orchard, Washington (Debbie’s hometown and the inspiration for her Cedar Cove series) transforms itself into Cedar Cove! It’s a really amazing event…find out more at the Cedar Cove Days website & photos like the one below of Debbie’s knitting store (where she also has a writing room) are being posted to the Harlequin Books Twitter, Facebook page, and Flickr.

3) Barnes & Noble eBooks is selling the One-Click Buy: August 2009 Harlequin Presents bundle at 50% off — only $14.99 USD! So if you like eBooks and haven’t already read all 8 August Harlequin Presents books, it’s a great deal.
The bundle includes: The Playboy Sheikh’s Virgin Stable-Girl by Sharon Kendrick, Ruthless Billionaire, Forbidden Baby by Emma Darcy, The Marcolini Blackmail Marriage by Melanie Milburne, Blackmailed into the Greek Tycoon’s Bed by Carol Marinelli, Bought: For His Convenience or Pleasure? by Maggie Cox, Spanish Magnate, Red-Hot Revenge by Lynn Raye Harris, Playboy Boss, Pregnancy of Passion by Kate Hardy, Naughty Nights in the Millionaire’s Mansion by Robyn Grady.
4) Nicola Marsh (who will be guest-blogging tomorrow) has a new Harlequin Romance free online read up now at eHarelquin. Fans of exotic locations should be excited — this story, One Indian Summer, is set in India! Here’s the blurb:
Once upon a time in Goa, a lovely maid dreamed of finding romance and adventure, just like in her beloved Bollywood films…
Khushi longs to escape the boredom of her life as a hotel housekeeper, but she learned long ago never to believe in dreams. So when she stumbles—literally!—upon a handsome Australian tourist with flashing eyes and a way with words, she knows the sparks between them can come to nothing.
With one week left in his yearlong tour of India, Harrison Rayne is not looking for romance. But he can’t deny the special connection he feels to the beautiful Khushi, and soon he knows they are meant to be together forever! Can he convince her that love at first sight happens in real life, too?
5) A bit old, but Lynn from All About Romance did a post about Harlequin Presents called “What is it with Billionaires, Anyway?” with more discussion in the comments. Some people love ‘em, others not so much (and a lot about the titles…).
6) Looking for quick Presents reviews? Try Susanna Carr’s blog
Do you have anything Presents related online you’d like to share? A review site, something new on your webpage…? Share in the comments! ~Amy
Oh wow, thanks Amy! I’m certainly not the world’s greatest expert on the topic, but I’ve had a lot of questions from people lately and thought I’d turn it into a series of blog posts based on my experience and all I’ve learned! All the Presents authors are welcome to come and comment — correct me if I’m wrong, or expound on a point, etc.
It’s been fun so far!

Oh, that free read from Nicola Marsh sounds intriguing! I have a bit of a weakness for Bollywood.
Me too, Lynn!
If you enjoy the online read, you’ll love ‘A Trip with the Tycoon’. The entire book is set in India (a luxury train trip through Rajasthan: Jaipur, Udaipur, Agra) and Goa.
The online read is a prequel to the book
I’m gleaning all these tips for the competition. They are so helpful. And thank you Lyn for answering questions etc. I’m off to your site as well. Anything I can get to help is so valuable. Ta.
I’m also off to check out all the other blogs mentioned.
Thank you.
