Celebrate Romance is an annual weekend where, as the CR website puts it, “romance readers and authors come together as equals to celebrate their love for the romance genre.”
This year, Celebrate Romance will be held the weekend of February 27-March 1, 2009 in Portland, Oregon, at The Benson Hotel. I am thrilled to say that one of the keynote speakers will be our own Jane Porter!
As a newbie participant I’m looking forward to relaxing, having fun, and most of all, making friends with some of the coolest people on earth—romance readers.
I’ve heard all kinds of stories about how much fun this informal gathering can be, most recently on Dear Author yesterday. Some women attend CR every year, even traveling across the country to do so!
So if you live in the Pacific Northwest and you’re looking for an inexpensive weekend getaway, I hope you’ll consider joining Jane and me in Portland at the end of the month. (I’ll be the redheaded girl with a mimosa in one hand and a chocolate chip cookie in the other.) Hope to see you there!
