How to Enter
About the Competition:
This is an opportunity for unpublished writers to taste the dream of writing for Harlequin Presents (Mills & Boon Modern Romance and Mills & Boon Modern Heat in the UK).
Our editors are looking for the best first chapters and synopses of an original, never before published or never previously submitted Presents novel. If you are selected as a winner or runner-up, you will receive one of the following prizes:
• The Winner receives an editor for a year
• Two Runners-up will receive editorial critiques of their first chapter entries, plus a telephone consultation.
How to Enter
1. First of all, please read the rules of the competition, posted separately on this site. Make sure that you understand them and agree with them.
2. The competition is open for entries, by on-line submission only, between 1st January and 14th February 2008.
3. All entries should be e-mailed to instantseduction@hmb.co.uk. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by return.
4. To enter, submit a Microsoft Word file of a typed (on A4 or equivalent size plain paper), double spaced, first chapter (no greater than 5,000 words) of a novel you have written which is suitable for the Harlequin Presents [North America]/Mills & Boon Modern Romance™/Modern Heat [United Kingdom] M&B Sexy/Sexy Sensation [Australia and New Zealand] series, and an outline (no greater than two pages in length) of the complete novel, along with your name, address, e-mail and phone number to instantseduction@hmb.co.uk
5. All submissions must be in English and be received no later than February 14th 2008. Your story concept must be original and must not have won a previous prize/award nor have been previously submitted, reproduced or published.
