Several readers were wondering if Harlequin would put all of the Presents titles into eBook format, specifically the backlist titles. Since I work on the Harlequin eBook program, I’m happy to tell you about our plans!
First, eBooks have been a very pleasant surprise for us as [...]

Oscar Night, the female equivalent of the Superbowl, is quite an event with my friends. We always gather at someone’s house with lots of food and wine, fill out our ballots and win prizes (in previous years we won a bracelet everytime we scored a win; this year we had to [...]

Hi, I’m Annie West and I’m a new author for Presents/Modern/Sexy (it all depends what country my book is being published in–the US, Canada, UK or Australia): take your pick, though I have to say I’m getting a kick out of being described as a Sexy author!

The Presents novels have their own code — specific story elements that only work in Presents. We start with:
The Presents Code: #1: Mistresses
Mistress n. Woman loved and courted by a man
That’s how the Oxford English dictionary defines a mistress – although apparently she can also be a woman in charge, one having an [...]

If you are an author you get to create those fantastic alpha males and tame them; if you are an editor you get paid to read Presents but you do attend a heck of a lot of meetings and all your work reading is done in the evenings and on weekends.

What kind of Valentines day [...]

Have you seen Casino Royale, the latest James Bond movie yet? I wasn’t sure about blond British actor, Daniel Craig, but after few glimpses of that bod (oh, those pecs and those swimming trunks) and his ruthless dedication to his mission, I fell, hook line and sinker — he’s pure Alpha for me!
What other movie [...]

What about Sex?

by Tessa Shapcott,
In my last post I was talking about Harlequin Presents and Sex.
It may surprise you to know that going beyond the bedroom door was one of the reasons why Presents came to be launched — we’ve been doing it since the 70s! But there was a firm value then: sex would always happen in [...]

Welcome to the world of those who love Harlequin Presents! We know; not everyone gets the appeal, the fantasy, the fun, the sheer delight of this world. But for those of us who do – let’s celebrate. We asked Tessa, Executive Editor, to share some of the history with us.

HARLEQUIN PRESENTS: Still Passionate After All These Years

When and why was the Harlequin Presents series launched?
Presents first hit the shelves in 1973 and was conceived to offer romance that was different in flavour to Harlequin’s existing line, Romance. Three now legendary writers, Violet Winspear, Anne Hampson and Anne Mather, led the way with their dramatic, sophisticated and sensual styles.
